Honorable Mention
The End of Prayer and Sin
Gray Squirrel

There is a hideous way
To explain everything,
And a delightful way.

So often those who
Speak of honesty
Speak only of hideousness.

I must admit, I prefer the
Morbid calm of darkness
To the nervous day...

Only because I
Prefer to heal,
Than ache...

There is a black
Condemning way,
And a way rewarded.

There is justice,
And there is justice
Forever undone.

I would spin a song for her,
If only to her fingers,
Curved with sleep.

So much preferred to
Any words
We'll say.

No matter life, or death,
Or God, or man
And his matters...

There's a curve to her fingers,
Requested,
A calm to her hands.
